Spreeder, as discussed in our January article, is a program used to accelerate users’ speed-reading skills. In a fast-paced world where efficiency is everything, speed-reading is essential to keep up! Since many of us would like to improve our skillset when it comes to reading quickly with great reading comprehension, programs like Spreeder are rising in popularity.

Surely, the book-lovers out there have a to-read stack that’s begging for attention. I know I do. There’s no better time than quarantine to enjoy a good book, and Spreeder can help you catch up on your yearly reading challenge and get through that stack in no time.

If you don’t currently have a book calling your name, or you just want a quick weekend read, read on for five great books that are perfect for speed reading.

Nine Inches by Tom Perotta

This is a collection of short stories by an author best known for his bestselling novel, Little ChildrenNine Inches is perfect for speed reading because, while the stories are easy to digest, they don’t leave your mind quickly. Each one has characters that resonate and come to life in a short amount of time. This is also great if you plan on reading in smaller chunks of time instead of in one sitting, as you can easily squeeze in a short story or two between other things you need to get done!

All Fall Down by Jennifer Weiner

All Fall Down tells the story of a mother struggling with an addiction to prescription medication. She tries to recover on her own, claiming that she’s not an addict – not even close – until things begin to spiral out of control. What does that loss of control do? It makes her want to take more pills. Using Spreeder to zip through this one will take you on a ride just as fast-paced as what main character Allison is experiencing.

Here’s To Us by Elin Hilderbrand

Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of beach reads, but nothing about her work is fluffy or superficial. Here’s To Us is full of a cast of characters you won’t soon forget, interwoven together because of the patriarch of one family. Set on the idyllic island of Nantucket, this story is sure to yank you out of any isolation blues and drop you on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.

Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin

Heart of the Matter is a book that instantly pulls you in. Using Spreeder, you’ll fly through the story of Nick, Tessa, and Valerie, caught in a love triangle that only two of them are aware of. There are sides to pick and characters to rally against, and Emily Giffin’s method of storytelling will take you on a wild ride. By the first few pages, you’ll already know who you’re rooting for. This is one you won’t be able to put down.

Step-Ball-Change by Jeanne Ray

Finally, a novel to make you laugh that still has substance. Step-Ball-Change is about family dynamics and the antics that crop up when a big group of people – not all related – are in the same house together. Sound familiar? This one is hilariously germane to current events, and we could all use a laugh or two right now to lighten the mood.

Checking out these books this weekend will surely make the long, homebound days fly by. They’ll fly by almost as fast as you’ll be able to read using the Spreeder cx app!

Thumbs up
